Macaque FcRγ typing  FcR Typing

The Resource has defined allelic differences for FcRγ of macaques (Rhesus and Cynomolgus macaques). While FcRn and CD32β have been found invariant among macaques and even Old World primates. The Resource has identified 3 alleles for CD16a (FcRγIII), 7 alleles for CD64 (FcRγI) and over 11 variants for CD32a (FcRγII).
While the significance of these variants is not fully determined at this time, some anecdotal associations with protection from mucosal SIV challenges have been suggested.

Typing is done from macaque RNA or cells for either receptor to be typed.
